### Home Emergency Insurance

Four tiers, each adding more cover than the last:
- **Smart Boiler** — boiler breakdown and servicing only; excludes heating, plumbing, electrics and other home emergencies.
- **Smart Heating** — adds central heating system cover to Smart Boiler; excludes plumbing, electrics, drainage.
- **Smart Home** — adds plumbing, electrics and drainage; comprehensive home emergency cover.

### Home Appliance Insurance

From £8.49/month (~£0.27/day per appliance). Covers mechanical breakdown, electrical breakdown, and accidental damage (accidental damage excludes televisions) for kitchen and laundry appliances. Up to £500 claim limit per appliance. Unlimited number of appliances can be insured on one policy. Multi-appliance discounts up to 30%.

Covered appliance types: washing machines, tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cookers, hobs and hoods, fridge freezers (including American-style), wine coolers. Major brands covered include Bosch, Samsung, Hotpoint, Indesit, LG, AEG, Beko, and Zanussi.

Proof of purchase is required for every appliance insured. Pre-owned items, items with pre-existing faults, and second-hand appliances are not covered. Older appliances may have reduced replacement contribution or be repair-only, depending on age — check policy terms. Freezer/fridge contents are not covered, only the appliance itself. If an appliance is beyond economical repair, Smart Cover contributes toward a like-for-like replacement based on the original item's specification and the appliance's age at policy inception.

For valid home emergency claims, Smart Cover targets sending a qualified UK engineer as soon as possible — this is a target, not a guarantee, and depends on location, engineer availability, and demand. What's claimable is governed by the specific plan's limits, exclusions and terms.
